Those of you who follow me know that I am a nut for reality television and this year one of my favorite places to eat, Casa Vega, has been featured on a reality TV show. While they indicate it is a popular place on the show, it is quite good, but until it got on the show, the crowds have not been like they are now. It is fun to sort of be part of a reality show in our own way. The owner is a really great gal who is also very smart. She knows that putting her restaurant on the show would help increase the traffic and rebuild the restaurant’s reputation. It has worked.
It has become recently a very popular place for the wannabe crowd instead of just the locals as well as those in the know. In fact, there are now more people with Mickey Mouse ears on when you eat there then ever before. So if you go, let me tell you two things. Every good Mexican restaurant has two staples: 1) home made chips and guacamole and 2) strong margaritas
Well I’ve seen many people ask about the iconic bushes in front of the building since there has been speculation that they might be taken down. Well tonight I took a photo in front of the restaurant to show you that they are still there. While I am someone who embraces change, I am also one who does like to preserve some of the icons. To me, these bushes are icons that need to be preserved as they are sentimental to many who still believe that restaurant is what it was 50 years ago.
Have any of you been here before? If you have, what do you like to eat there?
Do I need to mention that they have a great bar? If you go there, send me a picture of you in front of the restaurant.
