Movie Reviews – The Martian

The Martian

The Martian

I saw The Martian starring Matt Damon.  I have to admit that the name of the movie bugged me.  So I waited to see it until it came on Demand.  Then when he won a Best Actor in a comedy award at the Golden Globes for this role, I was a bit curious.  Matt Damon a comedian?  An outer space comedy?  I think the funny bits were more about the lighter moments and being able to look at the brighter side of things given the “gravity” (yes I selected that pun) of the predicament.  The movie premise is about an astronaut who survives an accident on Mars and everyone thinks he is dead.  I found that movie to be about hope and ingenuity and survival and creativity.  Yes there is nudity!!!  LOL!  And there are some cringing moments!  But other than that, the movie has some great moments that in the end will leave you with tears of joy!

I give it 4 erections!!

  1. “The Martian” held my attention as a Sci Fi film. Not the “Star Wars” or “Star Trek” variety, of course, but the movie had a heart. Why it would be labelled a comedy is beyond me in spite of lighter moments. It creatively spoke to the human will to survive in spite of nearly insurmountable odds. Damon pulled off the performance well and kept the audience focused throughout. As a fan of the Sci Fi genre, I found the movie more than interesting and often realistic to a fault.
